About Beehive Meals
How does Beehive Meals work?
Beehive Meals offers prepared freezer meals designed to make dinnertime easier. Each month, we offer rotating menus of meals for the slow cooker and a menu for the flat top grill, griddle or skillet.
Choose the menu and family size that best fits your needs, then decide whether you'd like to place a one-time order or subscribe and save. Subscriptions can be set to deliver every month, every other month, or every 3 months, and you can skip, change, or cancel your subscription at any time.
Your meals will be prepared, packaged, and shipped directly to your door. When you're ready to eat, simply take a meal from the freezer and follow the cooking instructions on the package.
Our meals include the main part of the meal, such as the protein or other base, along with the sauce, seasoning, or spice blend needed to prepare it. Depending on the meal, you may need to add a few ingredients or sides at home to complete the meal.
Order processing takes 1–3 business days from the purchase date. Once processed, your order will ship and typically be in transit for 1–2 days, depending on your location.
What menus does Beehive Meals offer?
Beehive Meals offers ready-to-cook freezer meals designed to make dinner easier with minimal prep. Our meals are prepared and packaged ahead of time, so when you're ready to cook, you simply follow the instructions for your chosen meal.
We offer several types of meals and boxes:
- Slow Cooker Menus – Our original freezer meals, with set monthly menus of 10 meals that rotate throughout the year. Each meal is prepared with the main protein or base, sauce, and seasonings, then frozen and ready to cook in a slow cooker. You simply add your own sides to complete the meal. Available in Classic, Gluten-Free, and Protein+ menus.
- Flat Top Menu – Fresh-prepped meals designed to be cooked on a flat top grill or skillet. Each monthly menu includes 8 meals that rotate throughout the year.
- Soup Menu - From September - February, we offer a Soup Menu that consists of 10 soups that can be cooked in your crockpot. These are a one-time order (not available for subscription) and are seasonal.
- Holiday Boxes – Complete holiday meals designed to take care of the whole table, from appetizers and entrees to sides and desserts. Our Holiday Boxes are different from our regular Slow Cooker and Flat Top Menus and are designed to feed 10–12 people for one holiday meal (i.e. Thanksgiving Dinner). Each box includes its own cooking and serving instructions.
- Gift Boxes - Whether you're celebrating a joyful milestone or offering comfort during a difficult time, our gift boxes make it easy to show up with something meaningful. Each box includes 5 Slow Cooker meals and a personalized note from you.
- One-Time Orders – You can purchase any available menu without subscribing.
- Subscriptions – Our Slow Cooker Menus (Classic, Gluten-Free, and Protein+) and Flat Top Menu are available for subscription. Choose your preferred menu, portion size, and delivery frequency, with the option to manage, skip, or cancel your subscription at any time.
Our menus rotate throughout the year, and you can view current and upcoming meal selections on our Our Meals page.
What is a freezer meal?
Freezer meals are a popular meal prep technique where you batch prep a lot of meals all at once, then store them in the freezer for future use. Our service is designed to take the busy work out of meal prep by doing all the planning, shopping, and prep work, then ship the meals directly to your home.
Do the meals come with sides?
No, our meals do not come with sides (i.e. tortillas, pasta, rice, etc.) Our meals are designed as the base of your meal, typically including the protein, sauce, and seasonings. Using what you have in your pantry or fridge, you can serve them over rice or pasta, in tacos or wraps, or however your family prefers.
We don’t include sides because each meal can be served in different ways, and fresh sides wouldn’t have the same freezer shelf life as our meals. For serving ideas and variations, visit Our Meals on our website.
How do I cook these meals?
The cooking method depends on which Beehive Meals menu or box you ordered. Each meal comes with specific cooking instructions to help you get the best results.
- Slow Cooker Meals: Our Slow Cooker Meals are designed to be cooked in a slow cooker (i.e. Crockpot). They can typically be cooked from frozen or thawed, depending on your preference. Follow the specific cooking instructions on the package for each meal for the recommended cook time and temperature.
- Flat Top Meals: Our Flat Top Meals are cooked on a flat top grill, griddle, or skillet. These meals should be thawed for 24–48 hours before cooking and typically take 15–20 minutes to prepare.
- Holiday Boxes: Our Holiday Boxes are designed specifically for each holiday and come with their own cooking instructions. Because each box and meal is different, follow the instructions included with your specific box for the best results.
How much do these meals cost?
Beehive Meals can be purchased as a one-time order or a subscription, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your family. Subscriptions receive 10% off one-time order pricing, and you can choose to receive your meals every month, every other month, or every 3 months.
Our meals are sold as a set menu, not as individual meals. Each menu is priced to include the entire menu listed on the product, so you receive all of the meals included in that menu for one price rather than paying separately for each meal.
Pricing varies based on the menu and portion size you choose, with meals starting at $3.25 per serving. Your total price will depend on the menu and portion size selected.
For current pricing and the meals included in each menu, visit the product page for the menu you'd like to order.
Do you allow substitutions?
Our meals are offered as monthly pre-selected menus, rather than à la carte.
Because our meals are prepared and packaged in batches, we’re unable to offer individual meal selections, substitutions, or customizations within a box at this time. This allows us to maintain consistency and quality across every order while keeping our meals ready to ship directly to your door.
We’re always evaluating ways to make our ordering experience more flexible, so individual meal selection may be something we offer in the future.
What's the difference between subscription and one time orders? Do I have to subscribe?
You don’t have to subscribe to order Beehive Meals. You can place a one-time order whenever you’d like, with no recurring charges.
If you choose a subscription, you’ll receive 10% off your orders and can choose to receive meals every month, every two months, or every three months. Subscriptions are flexible—you can skip, change, or cancel at any time before your next order processes.
Both options include the same set menus and portion sizes. Currently, Slow Cooker and Flat Top Menus are available as subscriptions. Our Soup Menus, Holiday Boxes, and Gift Boxes are available as one-time purchases only.
The main difference is whether your orders are recurring and the 10% subscription savings.
When will next month's menus be available?
Our menu release schedule varies by product:
- Slow Cooker & Flat Top Menus: New menus are available on the first day of each month.
- Soup Menus: Available seasonally from September through February and are typically released 1–2 weeks before the beginning of each month.
- Holiday Boxes: Typically released about one month before the holiday and shipped approximately 2 weeks before the holiday.
If you have a subscription that bills within the first few days of the month, you’ll be able to see the menu you’ll be receiving on our website when you receive your 3-day billing reminder. This gives you a chance to review the upcoming menu and make any changes to your subscription before it bills.

Shipping
Where does Beehive Meals ship to?
We ship to all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii! There are a small number of rural ZIP codes where we’re unable to offer 2-day delivery. Because our meals are perishable, we want to make sure they arrive cold and in the best possible condition. If your ZIP code isn’t currently eligible for delivery, it’s because there isn’t a 2-day shipping option that meets our quality and food-safety standards.
How long does shipping take?
Orders typically take 1–3 business days to process after your purchase. Once your order ships, it is generally in transit for 1–2 days, depending on your location.
You’ll receive an email when your order has been packed and is ready to ship, followed by another email with your tracking information once it’s provided by the carrier.
Can I schedule my delivery?
We’re unable to schedule an exact delivery date or time. Orders typically take 1–3 business days to process after purchase. Once shipped, orders are generally in transit for 1–2 days, depending on your location.
You’ll receive an email when your order is packed and ready to ship, followed by another email with tracking information once it’s provided by the carrier.
For subscriptions: Your order will generally ship around the same time as your original order based on the delivery schedule you selected. You can change your billing or shipping schedule at any time through Manage Subscription in your account. We’ll also send an email 3 days before your next charge so you have time to make any changes.
You don’t need to be home to receive your delivery. Our packaging is designed to keep your meals cold for several hours, but we recommend bringing your order inside and placing it in the freezer as soon as possible on the day it’s delivered.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes?
No, we do not ship to PO boxes. If you have a PO box listed as your shipping address, we will hold your order and contact you for an updated shipping address.
What if my order is delayed in transit?
If your order is delayed, we’ll first determine whether it is still within the safe delivery window for our meals. If the delay extends beyond that window, the order may no longer be safe to consume.
In most cases, the shipping carrier will dispose of packages that are delayed beyond the safe delivery window. If this happens, we’ll work with you to replace your order.
If your tracking information shows a delay, please contact our Customer Care team so we can help determine the best next step. If the delayed order arrives outside of the safe delivery window and the meals are no longer cold to the touch, please dispose of the meals and contact customer service.
What if I am going on vacation when my order is supposed to arrive?
If you’ll be away when your order is scheduled to arrive, be sure to reschedule your order before it is fulfilled! Once an order has been fulfilled, we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements due to a missed delivery.
We’ll send you an email 3 days before you’re billed, giving you time to make changes to your order or delivery schedule if needed.
You can manage your subscription and make changes through your account under Manage Subscription. If you need help, our Customer Care team is happy to assist you.
Will my meals arrive frozen?
Some thawing during shipping is normal and does not necessarily mean your meals are unsafe. Ingredients such as honey, brown sugar, marmalade, coconut aminos, and BBQ sauce have lower freezing points, so sauces may be soft or partially thawed even when the meal is properly chilled.
When your order arrives, check the protein. It should be partially frozen or cold and at refrigerator temperature (40°F or below). If your meals arrive cold to the touch and within the expected delivery window, place them in the freezer as soon as possible.
We include dry ice and insulated packaging to help maintain safe temperatures during transit. Dry ice naturally sublimates during shipping, so it may be completely gone by the time your order arrives.
Important: If you intentionally thaw a meal using water or a microwave, we do not recommend refreezing it. Instead, cook it promptly and follow the cooking instructions for that meal.
If your meals arrive warm, you have concerns about their temperature, or your order was delayed in transit, please contact our Customer Care team before consuming the meals.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
At this time, we don’t offer expedited shipping. Orders typically take 1–3 business days to process before they ship, followed by 1–2 days in transit, depending on your location.
Because our meals are shipped with dry ice and insulated packaging, we use a specific shipping schedule designed to ensure your meals arrive safely and at the proper temperature. Our current shipping process does not allow for expedited shipping options.

Nutrition & Allergen Information
Where do I find the nutrition facts for each meal?
You can find the nutrition facts for each meal on our website. Simply go to Our Meals, find the meal you’re looking for, and click “Nutrition Label” to view its nutritional information.
Can I remove an ingredient from my meal?
At this time, we’re unable to remove or modify individual ingredients from our meals. Our meals are prepared and packaged in batches, and due to the high volume of orders we prepare daily, we’re not able to accommodate ingredient changes or customizations on individual orders.
If you have a specific dietary need or ingredient you’re looking to avoid, we recommend reviewing the ingredients and nutrition information for each meal on our Our Meals page before ordering.
Are you certified Gluten-Free?
While our meals are not certified gluten-free, we offer an exclusive Gluten-Free Menu for customers who choose to avoid gluten. We take extra steps during preparation to help minimize the risk of cross-contact and make our meals a great option for many customers looking for gluten-free choices.
Our gluten-free meals are prepared in the same commercial kitchen as our gluten-containing meals, but they are prepared on a dedicated production day when gluten-containing meals are not being made. Our kitchen is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each production day, and we make our own sauces and spice blends in-house to help avoid unnecessary gluten in our products.
We have many customers who choose our Gluten-Free Menu, including those with gluten sensitivities. Because our kitchen is not a certified gluten-free facility, customers with celiac disease or severe gluten allergies should review our preparation process and decide whether our meals meet their individual needs and comfort level.
Are your meals Dairy Free?
Some of our meals do not contain dairy, but not every meal on our menu is dairy-free. You can find the ingredients and allergen information for each meal on our Our Meals page.
Because our menus are pre-selected, we’re unable to substitute or swap individual meals that contain dairy. If you avoid dairy, we recommend reviewing the current menu and choosing the options that best fit your needs. Some of the meals will have the dairy products packaged separately, so if you have a meal that is packaged that way you can opt to not add the dairy products, but not every meal that includes dairy is packaged this way.
Do your meals contain high fructose corn syrup?
No. We do not use high fructose corn syrup in our meals.
We’re intentional about the ingredients we use and work to keep our recipes simple and high quality. You can view the complete ingredient list for each meal on our Our Meals page before ordering.
Do your meals contain artificial food dyes?
No. We do not use artificial food dyes in our meals.
We make our own spice blends and sauces in-house, which allows us to have more control over the ingredients we use and avoid unnecessary additives like artificial dyes.
Do your meals contain seed oils?
Most of our meals do not contain added seed oils. However, there are a few exceptions (such as our meals that contain meatballs), so we recommend checking the ingredient list for each meal before ordering.
Our goal is to keep our ingredients simple and intentional, and we provide the full ingredient list for every meal on our Our Meals page so you can make an informed decision about what works best for you and your family.

SUPPORT FAQS
Cooking Tips & Food Safety
If I am getting a slow cooker menu, what size slow cooker do I need?
If you’re purchasing a new slow cooker, we recommend choosing one with a digital timer that allows you to set the exact cooking time and automatically switches to a “Keep Warm” setting when the cooking time is complete. This can help prevent meals from becoming overcooked or dry if you’re not able to serve them right when they finish cooking.
We recommend the following slow cooker sizes based on the portion size you order:
- Smaller Portion (SP): 3-quart slow cooker
- Regular Portion (RP): 4-quart slow cooker
- Bigger Portion (BP): 6-quart slow cooker
Can I cook meals in an instant pot or pressure cooker?
It depends on the meal. Our slow cooker meals are specifically designed to be cooked in a slow cooker, and we recommend using that method for the best results.
Some meals may work well in an Instant Pot, particularly those without dairy or a large amount of sauce or liquid. However, meals containing dairy are not recommended for the Instant Pot, as the high heat and pressure can cause dairy to curdle. For the best results, always follow the cooking instructions provided with your meal.
How long do the meals take to cook?
Cooking time depends on the menu and, for Slow Cooker Meals, whether you’re cooking the meal from frozen or thawed.
Slow Cooker Meals: Cooking times vary based on the meal and the type of meat, ranging from about 2–8 hours. Always check the cooking instructions on the meal for the recommended time and temperature. Once it’s in the slow cooker, you can let it cook while you go about your day. Pro Tip: A slow cooker with a digital timer that automatically switches to “Keep Warm” when the cooking time is complete can be especially helpful. You can start your meal in the morning and come home to dinner ready to serve.
Flat Top Meals: Flat Top Meals should be thawed for 24–48 hours before cooking. Once thawed, most meals take about 20 minutes to cook on a flat top or skillet. They’re a quick option for pulling dinner together with some easy sides.
How do I know when a meal is done?
Cooking times can vary by meal, so always follow the specific cooking instructions for the meal you’re preparing. We recommend using a meat thermometer and using USDA approved internal temperatures for each meat.
- Chicken: 165°F
- Beef: 145°F for whole cuts; 160°F for ground beef
- Pork: 145°F for whole cuts; 160°F for ground pork
If my meals don't arrive frozen, are the safe to consume?
What if my dry ice is gone when my order arrives?
It’s normal for the dry ice to be completely gone by the time your order arrives. Dry ice naturally sublimates during shipping, and our packaging is designed to keep your meals cold even after the dry ice has dissipated.
As long as your meals arrive cold to the touch or partially frozen and at 40°F or below, they can be placed in the freezer. If your meals arrive warm or you’re unsure about their temperature, please contact our Customer Care team before consuming them.
How do I handle dry ice safely?
Dry ice is extremely cold and can cause skin injury if handled directly. Do not touch dry ice with your bare hands. Use gloves or tongs when handling it, and keep it away from children and pets.
If dry ice remains in your package when it arrives, do not place it in your freezer or store it in an airtight container. Allow it to dissipate in a well-ventilated area away from people and pets. Never place dry ice in a sink, toilet, or other enclosed space.
If there is still dry ice in your box, open the package in a well-ventilated area and allow the remaining dry ice to fully evaporate before disposing of the packaging.
